The error we see ‘ERROR - The shared restore point operation failed with error (0x81000101)’ can normally be resolved by the methods you have already tried.
The cause of this error is ‘Windows Server Backup is timing out during shadow copy creation since it is taking more than 10 minutes’.

After a remote session we noticed:
The error we see ‘ERROR - The shared restore point operation failed with error (0x81000101)’ can normally be the 'Windows Server Backup timing out during shadow copy creation since it is taking more than 10 minutes.
The system is using all of its resources and we believe that is the cause of the underlying issue.
These errors are at the OS level and our software is simply reporting them. Without a healthy VSS system, our backup software won’t start its process.
–Recommendations
A server reboot should allow the backup to run. The reboot will free up resources, although the issue will probably come back again.
Are you able to plug a USB disk into the server and use this as the temporary location? Doing so will alleviate some of the pressure on the disks when the VSS issue is resolved.
Are you able to increase the RAM in the server?
