Missed backups reasons

Symptoms

  1. Backups which are run manually will work, but scheduled backups won’t.

  2. You see a white bar in your dashboard timeline which shows the backup was missed.

Causes

  1. Whenever our backup software is installed, the in-built ‘system’ account is used and sometimes this doesn’t have enough permissions to access your data.

  2. Our software should also have the local Windows user’s account details entered into the software. This is set within each backup job. If the Windows password is changed for this account, you will also need to change the password in our software.

  3. Incorrect time zone on your device is correct for your region.

  4. The Windows scheduler service has stopped or can’t be started.
