[SQLITE_IOERR_SHORT_READ] The VFS layer was unable to obtain as many bytes as was requested (disk I/O error)

[CloudFileSystem.createFile] Failed to insert file

[SQLiteException] [SQLITE_BUSY] The database file is locked (database is locked)

Cause

A lot of Synology NAS devices ship with 2GB of RAM. This enough for normal usage, however, our software will also consume Java heap RAM.

During initial and large backups, the Java heap RAM can’t grow to the required size and the backup can crash. This is turn causes the index files to become corrupted.

After the initial and large backups have completed, normal backup processes are unlikely to have an adverse effect on the NAS’ resources.

Fix

This is an easy issue to fix in the same was as if it were a Windows PC or server.

The following tech shows how to fix the issue. You can only complete steps 1-4 on a NAS device.
